Neon is the culmination of a career dedicated to words. I have spent the last 12 years teaching, reading, writing and studying English.

As a lifelong word-nerd (I’m proudly coining that phrase) and social media expert I’m passionate about using my skills to support & promote independent businesses. My experience ranges from targeted social media campaigns to poetry to recipes to magazine articles & blogs. I have the technical & creative abilities to write words that hit their mark both emotively and according to SEO, keywords & algorithms – not only reading beautifully but performing for a purpose.

Areas of specialist knowledge include lifestyle, UK tourism, food & drink, coffee, gardening, hospitality, houseplants, DIY & dogs. However I am happy to write on any given subject & ensure writing is both factual and engaging for the target audience, no matter the topic.

How we can work together

Flexibility is key to what I do. Some of my clients commission one-off pieces or projects & for others I manage the entirety of their communications for a monthly fee.

I love to get to know my clients; their business & what they stand for. If you want to discuss a project via email, over the phone or in person – I’m happy to accommodate. I pride myself on adopting the ‘voice’ of everyone I work with – so even their most regular customers wouldn’t know they’d employed a writer.

I’m serious about what I do, but not precious! So if you want to make changes to a piece or a campaign I’m happy to make amendments.
